An Artist & a Voice, a singer songwriter, a concert pianist & composer, the artist delights audiences globally with her performances, blending rich traditions of the world to creating her own.
Between West and East, India and drawing on her French American roots, Ariane Gray Hubert creates an exclusive and creative dialogue uniting peoples, communities and continents with her art.
Born in Paris, Ariane started her artistic journey at the age of four, largely influenced by her New Yorker mother and celebrated painter, Tamara Hubert. She took her first piano lessons with her grand aunt in Paris, a disciple of the legendary concert pianist, Alfred Cortot, and mastered the art of piano under the renowned French & Russian pianistic traditions. As a singer with an expressive mezzo alto voice, she carries on a unique legacy including her gospel and songs, to the Indian oral traditions which she mastered complimenting her repertoire.
The artist performs for major international festivals such as France Musique, Musée d’Orsay, Unesco, the Vatican, Petit Palais Paris, Sunset Sunside Jazz club, the European Delegation in India, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Baltic countries, to India and Japan. In India where her career took an unprecedented turning point, her performances receive high accolades from a wide range of music lovers and fans at the Music Academy in Chennai, NCPA in Mumbai, Teen Murti Bhavan, the Habitat Center, the Lotus Temple in Delhi, the Mission of Vatican and Nunciature, the Music Society in Calcutta, Pune, Bangalore to name a few.
Among her collaborations with different partners, the artist has created tailor-made artistic programs for the launch of exclusive events of structures around the world such as “Piano Rag(a) Time”, a series of performances with the Lufthansa South Asia group in India, the music of Ariane Gray Hubert also serving as a launch for the National Geographic TV channel and the creation of an international flight between Germany and India. For the celebration of the thirty years of the Lecoanet Hemant haute couture house, she performed another successful program in the historic Palace, the Bikaner House. Following soon after, her much acclaimed “Ivre D’Amour” with her trio at ‘Namaste France’ Festival at Petit Palais, Paris.
At the invitation of the French government, she composed and dedicated her special composition “La Note Bleue” for the Bicentenary Birthday Commemoration of F. Chopin at the closing down of ‘Bonjour India’ and the opening of ‘Namasté France’ in a series of solo recitals.
In collaboration with the Brazilian government and Tata Group, she created a series of performances entitled “O Brazil: Rhythms, Rhymes and Songs” dedicated to women composers and poetesses of Brazil. In Japan, she performed her songs in tribute to Cecilia Mereiles and other voices of South America. Her recitals entitled “Clara, Lili, Consuelo and other muses” received another great success in Europe and India.
In Paris, “Ariane Gospel’s and Tillana” at Sunset Sunside Jazz Club made waves among the public with her art of storytelling including the hit track ‘La Tillana’.
In 2020 she was nominated as a member of the Jury at the International Film Festival of India in Aurangabad where she presented the Public Award to the renowned film director Costa-Gavras. In collaboration with the MGM University-Mahatma Gandhi Mission in Aurangabad, she has been appointed as a distinguished Member of Board in the departments of Filmmaking & cinema production.
As a composer, she has received several international awards and composed music such as the ballet production “When The Gods Meet” for the renowned dancer, Dr Sonal Mansingh.
Her latest album “The Monsoon Blues” launched in 2021 is a collection of powerful songs for voice and piano highlighted by her imaginary language.
Twice she was awarded the prestigious “Laureate Lavoisier” by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs for her achievements in Austria and India. The Romanian government honoured her with the Award for the Best Promoter in Music at the 60th Indo- Romanian Relations.
Ariane Gray Hubert performs also for leading foundations and causes worldwide including the Water preservation with Unesco, Save The Tiger in India, the Bahai’s in Iran to the access to education for the Girl child. She produces and gives a live monthly radio – tv broadcast entitled “Le Piano & La Voix D’Ariane”. She is affiliated to Sacem.
